Energy Assistance Program to Open 2016-2017 Heating Season

Crown Point, IN – On November 1, 2016, Northwest Indiana Community Action will once again open its Energy Assistance Program for Lake, Porter, Jasper and Newton Counties. In the past year 122,088 households statewide were assisted with their heating needs, heating emergencies and summer electric assistance. “Saving energy saves money, money that can be used to purchase medicines, food or other necessities. We encourage all community members to apply...even if you have been previously denied,” said Gina Gomez, NWICA Community Services Manager.
