NWICA's Family Caregiver Program offers information, support, and resources to assist family caregivers (spouse, adult child, other relative, friend or neighbor) with their concerns related to caregiving and helps caregivers find solutions to their caregiving dilemmas. Whether arranging for services, e.g. respite care, transportation, etc., or helping families understand their options for care, the Family Caregiver Program gives caregivers access to the information and services that can help them in the often rewarding, sometimes challenging, role of caregiver.
The program offers the following for family caregivers:
· Information about available services
· Assistance in gaining access to services
· Individual counseling, support groups and training
· Respite care to help caregivers take a break from providing care, and
· Supplemental services
If you would like to learn more about these services, dial 2-1-1 to be connected to our Aging and Disability Resource Center. If you are searching for local resources and information please visit us at www.nwi211.com, live chat or call.
For those wishing to connect with other caregivers in a supportive online community forum, NWICA is pleased to offer the Caregiver Forum, powered by AgingCare.com. This is a nationwide group where you can ask questions, give answers, exchange messages and get support from other family caregivers who understand exactly what you're going through.
